House Burger

My version of a burger joint, built as an app.

TL;DR

Most food apps look the same: a grid of thumbnails, a price, a spinner, and a map. House Burger is my version of a burger joint instead. It has a personality, it makes promises, and it turns the wait into the best part of the order.

The Boring Version

Ordering food on a phone has become a spreadsheet with pictures. Every restaurant gets the same card, the same cart, and the same progress bar. The food might be great, but the app never tells you why this place is worth choosing.

My Version

I designed House Burger the way a good burger joint feels: a loud sign, a short menu, a confident promise, and a kitchen you can almost see. Ten screens take you from the door to the delivery, with the burger at the centre of every one.

The product story

From the front door to the first bite.

01 / Walk in

The app opens like a shopfront, not a login wall. A tin-sign splash and two onboarding screens make the only promises that matter: every burger is stacked to order, and it arrives hot in 20 minutes, or the next fries are on the house.

02 / Read the board

Sign-in is a phone number and a code. The menu then works like the board above the counter: today's pick up top, a few burgers below, and fries within reach. No endless scroll of restaurants.

03 / Order like a regular

The burger page reads like packaging, with the patty count, weight, and a specification card. The cart suggests one pairing instead of a carousel and leaves room for a cooking note. Checkout keeps time, payment, and the bill on one screen.

04 / Watch it stack

Most apps hide the kitchen behind a spinner. Here the burger is assembled in front of you, layer by layer, with each ingredient named as it lands. The wait becomes something to watch.

05 / Out the door

Once it ships, a four-step tracker (stacked, packed, on the way, delivered) and a torn-off receipt with the rider's name close the loop, still in the same voice as the sign out front.

Motion / 01

The wait becomes part of the order.

Tap Place Order and the grill comes alive. Each ingredient lands with a little bounce; then the finished burger bursts into an exploded view of all six layers.
