A classic 3-oscillator monosynth, rebuilt for the browser
A faithful mockup of the synth that defined a generation of basslines and leads — three oscillators into a mixer, a resonant ladder filter, two envelopes, and a patch bay you wire up with real cables. Includes a 16-step sequencer and an onscreen test keyboard.
WHY I BUILT IT
Every synth-nerd rite of passage runs through this instrument. I wanted to see if I could rebuild its whole signal path — oscillators, filter, patch cables and all — as an interactive interface, not just a static picture of one.
OSCILLATOR BANK
Three oscillators with their own range, waveform and (OSC 2/3) fine tune. Mix their volumes below in MIXER.
MIXER
Blend the three oscillators plus noise and an external input. Flip a switch off to silence that source entirely.
MODIFIERS
The filter and its contour (attack/decay/sustain) shape brightness over time; loudness contour shapes volume the same way.
PATCHING
Click an output jack (LFO / MIX / MAIN), then an input jack to run a cable between them. Click a patched jack again to unplug it.
SEQUENCER
Turn REC on and play the keyboard to fill 16 steps; PLAY loops the pattern. Click a filled step to toggle it as a rest.
KEYBOARD
Play the onscreen keys or your computer keyboard (A–K row). Z / X shift the octave. Drag any knob up/down to adjust it.
