A role-selection and filtering model designed for thousands of overlapping requisitions.

Overview

I redesigned a dense pipeline analytics workflow so teams could move from thousands of roles to a focused, trustworthy view of candidate movement.

The problem

A conventional dropdown broke down across more than 3,000 roles, overlapping titles, multiple requisitions, and repeat visits. Search, selection, and application were easy to confuse, while bulk actions felt risky.

What I drove

  1. Reframed filtering as a query-building problem rather than a dropdown redesign.
  2. Mapped first-time, repeat, search, selection, bulk, and empty states.
  3. Separated browsing, searching, selecting, and updating into clear actions.

What changed

  1. Reframed an overloaded dropdown as a staged query-building workflow.
  2. Made bulk scope, selected criteria, and the moment data updates explicit and reversible.
